OUR PROJECT

Music for All Project is a unique creative music project model that sees students of diverse abilities and experience collaborate with world-class artists across a weeklong composition project.  In 2019, our award winning project was inspired by the joyful South Australian story, Fancy Pants by Kelly Hibbert and Amanda Graham through a partnership with Raising Literacy Australia. This project was established in order to demonstrate the deep potential for an inclusive, community-based model of music education that positions students of all abilities at the centre of the creative process, mentored and guided by inspirational musicians.

Led by internationally-acclaimed composer Paul Rissmann and Adelaide born violinist Belinda McFarlane, the program additionally involved six early career artists from Australian Youth Orchestra's Momentum Ensemble, who performed alongside and mentored the participants as they collectively devised, explored and performed brand new music of their own. The program culminated in a celebratory public concert at the Marion Cultural Centre.

We believe that participation in music initiatives of the highest artist quality is the right of every child and that all young people have rich creative and musical potential.  We recognise the significant power of music to build social cohesion and to positively impact the health and wellbeing of individuals and the community.

This project is the outcome of a key partnership between Kilparrin Teaching & Assessment School & ServicesConnecting the Dots in MusicCity of Marion in collaboration with Australian Youth Orchestra Momentum Ensemble, Raising Literacy Australia/Little Book PressSuneden Specialist School and South Australian School for the Vision Impaired

We look forward to inspiring young people of all abilities as we work together to build new innovative and empowering projects into the future.
